SINCE 1822.

Built in 1822 and nestled in the heart of the Prigorje region, Kurija Omilje is steeped in rich cultural heritage and historical significance.
Renowned Croatian painter and printmaker Anka Krizmanić was born here in 1896. She came from the Krizmanić family, one of the former owners of Kurija Omilje. During the time of the Illyrian movement, the manor hosted many of its key figures, including Stanko Vraz, Ljudevit Gaj, Stjepan Mlinarić, Vjekoslav Babukić, Dragutin Rakovac, and Abbot Krizmanić. Kurija Omilje is also the birthplace of Vjenceslav Richter – a celebrated Croatian architect, sculptor, and painter – born here in 1917 to teacher parents.
